DAVID WARNER smashed one of many World Cup records on Wednesday night in Perth as Australia romped to victory over Afghanistan, but he fell short of making a bad day even worse for dropped teammate Shane Watson.

Australia made short work of its minnow opponent in posting 6-417, the highest total in World Cup history, before capping off with a 275-run winning margin, another tournament record and the second-biggest victory ever in an ODI.
