Nintendo’s Next Big Thing?
Reports are coming in that shows a level of interest in Virtual Reality by Nintendo.
A Japanese Twitter user who goes by the handle “Nstyles” was present as today’s Nintendo Shareholder’s Meeting and live-tweeted what was apparently said. Nintendo has not released the official transcript of the meeting but if this information is to be believed, Nintendo could possibly be the next major gaming company to get their foot in the door of VR.
According to Nstyles, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that he checked out VR at E3 as well as Nintendo does have the foundations of VR. Miyamoto, creator of games such as The Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Donkey Kong, has been a legendary figure at Nintendo for well over 30 years. With his many years in the industry, he has his concerns about the technology, however. Nintendo is known for playing it safe. As a result, Miyamoto seems worried about the length of time that can be spent playing VR. Playing games for long periods of time safely is very important to Nintendo, so it’s understandable that they’d worry about VR. Regardless, they do have the foundation technology we can only wait to see what’s in store for Nintendo.
